How your work is handled
StyleMD is built for people uploading their best writing and source. We treat that as proprietary unless you choose to import something that is already public.
What StyleMD stores
Your account, samples, diagnoses, and generated style files live in this app's database (locally, in this MVP). We do not sell your work, list it in a marketplace, or train a StyleMD model on it.
What is sent to Grok
Diagnosis, refine, Style Check, and social lookup call the xAI API (not Grok on X, and not grok.com chat). Your samples or a draft go in that request so the model can analyze them. That is required for the product to work.
xAI states that it does not train on API inputs or outputs without explicit permission. By default it may keep request logs, encrypted, for 30 days for abuse review, then delete them. That is a provider promise, not something StyleMD can independently audit. Details: xAI API security FAQ.
Public social posts
If you import from X, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok, we only look up posts that are already public. Those posts were public before StyleMD saw them. Import still requires your confirmation before anything is saved to your profile.
GitHub
Public repos are fetched from GitHub's API. Private repos are only readable if you put a token in this server's environment. Selected files are stored on your StyleMD profile like any other sample.
What you can delete
Remove a sample, delete a profile, or wipe the account from Settings. That erases StyleMD's stored copies. It cannot unsay a request already sent to xAI; those follow xAI's retention window unless the operator has enabled Zero Data Retention on the xAI team.
